Megan
Yockey
Assistant
Trainer

Megan is a native Wisconsinite and a graduate of the UW-Madison, with a B.A. in Music and Theater. She grew up in a household with cats and the occasional fish, hamster or gerbil, but did not have a dog until her first rescue of a female Siberian Husky, Stanzi, from the Dane County Humane Society a few years after finishing college.
While living in Manhattan, she adopted a second Siberian Husky, Mikey, from the city shelter. He had some fear and anxiety issues, and working with him was an altogether different experience from working with Stanzi. As a result, her already considerable interest in dog behavior and training grew stronger. Megan joined a trainer apprenticeship program at Biscuits & Bath in NYC, and began educating herself by reading recommended literature. She is continuing to learn on the job as an assistant with Teacher’s Pet, and by volunteering at
DCHS.
Megan is a strong supporter of animal rescue and rehabilitation efforts, and is a proponent of wildlife conservation (with wolves holding a particular soft spot.) She works from home for a computer book publisher, which allows her to spend her days with her pack.
