Homeschooling

Your dog’s school comes to your home!

Homeschooling sessions to begin in May - inquire now!

How is this different than our other private training options?

Homeschooling provides the opportunity for your dog to work one-on-one with our certified behavior consultant in the comfort of your own home to work towards your training goals, whether those be obedience or behavioral. Homeschooling is a more intensive training option where our trainer meets multiple times a week with your dog only to help establish base skills necessary to help you and your dog. Options are available for multi-dog training! This is a great choice for busy pet parent lifestyles or those who are emotionally fatigued by their dog’s behaviors.

Homeschooling is available within 10 miles of downtown Middleton. If you are outside of this range, we can discuss you bringing your dog(s) to our trainer for the session duration (not longer), or our main private training option would still be a good fit for you!

Is this a good fit for your dog?

There are no age limits for Homeschooling - we are happy to work with any and all ages! Homeschooling is great to provide the foundation for many common behaviors, such as: manners, excitable dogs, reactivity on leash to other dogs and/or people, pulling on leash, recall (coming when called), and building confidence in your dog! Homeschooling is not for: visitor reactivity, resource guarding, potty training, or separation anxiety. For these, we suggest our main private training options.

What would this look like for your dog?

We would start with an included 20-30-minute meet & greet to get to know each other, your goals, and your pup. You will also fill out a provided pet history form before this. We then work together to determine which frequency option and schedule would be best for you and your dog. In each option, a transfer session is included in addition to the Homeschooling sessions where we meet together to review and transfer your dog’s skills. A summary of these skills is included in this transfer session as well as a weekly report on how your dog is doing depending on which frequency option you choose. Email/text support is available throughout your training.

Frequency options:

  • 3 Homeschooling sessions over 1-2 weeks (3 sessions total + the transfer session).

  • 4 Homeschooling sessions over 1-2 weeks (4 sessions total + the transfer session).

  • 3 Homeschooling sessions per week over 2 weeks (6 sessions total + the transfer session).

  • 2 Homeschooling sessions per week over 3 weeks (6 sessions total + the transfer session).

Schedule:

  • Homeschooling sessions occur during the day either in the morning (between 9am and 12pm) or the afternoon (between 12pm and 4pm)

  • Homeschooling sessions are 45-minutes in length during the AM or PM windows. The days of the week may be chosen by you as long as our schedule allows.

  • The transfer session is 1 hour long and scheduled according to your availability.

Remember, regardless of which frequency and schedule you choose, pet parents must maintain their dog’s training to achieve optimal results, and you will be given homework. The option to continue via our regular private training afterwards is available as well.

Package costs:

  • 3 session option + transfer session: $375

  • 4 session option + transfer session: $460

  • 6 session option + transfer session: $635

  • For training sessions involving 2 dogs, the rate is 1.5x the package and sessions are 60-minutes rather than 45 to accommodate for both dogs’ training.
